About this event

We are looking for amazing artwork featuring our local turtle species that we can use to promote and educate about species decline and threats. Artwork can be from students in any year level.

Register now to receive the information pack with resources, info and reference images of our three River Murray turtles - then submit your original artworks to our Berri office OR our Murray Bridge office before COB Friday 2 September 2022.

Register as a single artist… or Register your class/group and let us know how many artworks you will submit. You'll then receive information and resources to help produce wonderful art!

ARTWORK - What we need:

Full colour artworks of our three River Murray turtle species: Eastern long-necked, murray short-necked and broad-shelled turtles.

Artwork must be A3 size.

Any medium can be used including pencil, paint, texta, pastel, collage as long as the final original artwork is secure and is able to be scanned or photographed for use.

Artworks can be realistic or abstract. We would love to see bright, colourful, clear artworks that can be used for a range of promotions.

Artwork could feature ANY of the following or:

• one of the turtle species

• all of the turtles

• adult turtle(s)

• juvenile turtle(s)

• turtle living in perfect habitat

• Threats to turtles (for example, foxes, turtles being hit by cars as they try to relocate)

• turtle anatomy, shell shape etc.

Upon registration you will receive additional ideas/suggestions and information along with reference images and links to find out more about our precious River Murray turtles.

Those submitting artwork need to understand the following: By submitting it to us, you understand and agree that your original artwork will become the property of the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board and will be used for promotional purposes relating to the conservation of turtles and the work of the landscape board. We will not be able to return original artworks.

When we need it:

Completed artworks will need to be delivered to our Berri office OR our Murray Bridge office by COB Friday 2 September 2022 to allow time for sorting and scanning/photography.
